Life Issues Counseling – Introduction
Life Issues Counseling at Unbroken Covenant Cathedral is a ministry of care, healing, and restoration rooted in the love of Jesus Christ. We recognize that believers and families face real emotional, spiritual, and mental challenges in a broken world. These challenges do not mean a lack of faith—they reveal a need for God’s presence, truth, and support.
Our counseling approach is Christ-centered, Bible-based, and Spirit-led. Through prayer, Scripture, and compassionate guidance, individuals are encouraged to find strength, hope, and renewed purpose in Christ. No life issue is beyond God’s ability to heal, restore, and redeem.
Life Issue: Depression
When Darkness Feels Overwhelming, Christ Is the Light
Depression is a deep emotional and spiritual struggle that can affect the mind, body, and soul. It may show itself through sadness, hopelessness, fatigue, loss of interest, or a sense of isolation. Even faithful believers—including biblical figures like David, Elijah, and Job—experienced seasons of deep sorrow. Yet God remained near to them, just as He remains near today.
Depression does not define your faith, and it does not disqualify you from God’s love. Jesus came to bring light into darkness and life into weary hearts.
“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
— John 10:10
Biblical Understanding of Depression
Depression is not a sign of spiritual failure
God is near even when emotions feel distant
Scripture acknowledges emotional pain and distress
Healing may involve spiritual, emotional, and practical steps
God’s presence is constant, even when feelings change
